Company History

Valdosta Orthopedic Associates has been setting the standards for quality medical care for sports injuries, back & neck pain, and hip & knee pain for over 25 years. The company was founded by Dr. Oscar Aguero, Jr. and Dr. John Kendrick in 1996 in the pursuit of excellence in orthopedic medicine from emergency care to rehabilitation.
In the 25+ years since our founding VOA has more than doubled in size with new physicians, partners, facilities, staff and patients. In 1999 the Ambulatory Surgery Center was built. Patients now have the option of multiple treatment facilities for outpatient surgeries and procedures. With state of the art nursing care patients receive one on one attention during all aspects of their surgery from pre-op to discharge with the convenience of one location for everything.
On site diagnostic imaging like our digital X-Ray allows for faster treatment of our patients. In 2003 our AIRIS Premium Open MR Imaging (MRI) system was added. It is open on all sides making it ideal for claustrophobic patients or those too large for traditional MRI systems. AIRIS features the strongest MR imaging magnet of its kind available, assuring high resolution images for greater diagnostic potential.
One year later VOA introduced the newest team member, Mika Alakulppi a licensed Physical Therapist, and opened North Crossing Physical Therapy to enhance complete patient care. This addition allows patients the conservative treatment option before surgery and the rehabilitation after surgery.
In 2013 the practice was expanded once again by opening an office in Moultrie, Georgia to begin reaching more patients over a larger area of Southeast Georgia.
Now 25 years later we are still providing top quality, state-of-the-art care for our patients and we look forward to many more years of excellence and service.
